Enable Ability is an independent charity for the care, welfare and advancement of disabled people living in Portsmouth and the surrounding area.
Works in partnership with disabled children and adults, their families and carers, to provide a range of high quality, professional and confidential services.
The charity provides 11 specific services
1.Issue-based advocacy – including transitional support for teenagers in specialist and mainstream school settings
2.Adult befriending – including targeted work with disabled young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET)
3.Child Befriending is a service for children with a moderate to severe disability
4.Holiday playscheme provision for children aged 5 to 18 years together with the employment of appropriately trained staff at 9 mainstream settings across the city
5.Partnership in Active Leisure Service (PALS) – offering a range of leisure and sporting activities to physically disabled children & young people
6.A Saturday Club for children aged 5 to 16 years

10.Umbrella body status for organisations wishing to process Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure applications
11.Wheelchair-accessible minibus hire to local community organisations.
